Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be shown live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former two time unified boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead targeted former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge earnings.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
